For developers

Your clipboard holds tokens all day.

A bearer token on its way to a curl command. A database URL with the password still in it. Copywarden treats the pasteboard as the credential store it already is, and encrypts every clip with AES-256-GCM before it reaches disk.

Browser-extension passwords

Copy a credential from your password manager's extension. It lands concealed.

A native app can mark a copy as concealed. A browser extension cannot, so the signal is simply absent. Copywarden detects the copy across nine browsers and conceals it automatically — still yours to paste, never in your history in the clear.

The formats it knows by name.

Provider tokens

GitHub classic and fine-grained, GitLab, AWS, Stripe, OpenAI, Slack, Google, npm, SendGrid, Twilio, Shopify.

Keys, cards, SSNs

PEM private keys, JWTs recognised by structure, payment card numbers, US social security numbers.

Labelled credentials

An assignment to a password, token or api_key — plus a high-entropy fallback for formats with no published prefix.

Best-effort, and it says so

Pattern matching and entropy analysis. Copywarden never contacts a provider to confirm a key is live, so a hand-rolled format can pass unrecognised.

Automation you did not write

Let a Shortcut read your clipboard. Not your credentials.

Shortcuts, Spotlight and App Intents reach your history through AgentAccessGuard — one chokepoint, not a permission per surface. Previews are redacted before they are served, a paste of a detected secret is refused rather than masked, and one switch in Settings turns these tools off outright. Each access is logged by tool, decision and count — never clip text.

Finding it again

Search for the snippet, not the exact string.

Keyword search only finds a clip if you remember its wording. Copywarden also indexes for meaning, on your Mac, so “that regex for parsing log timestamps” finds the clip you cannot quote. Snippets you write land in the same index as captured clips. A Pro capability, free during the public beta; results come from the clips loaded in your history window, not every clip ever stored.
