Yes. The encrypted clipboard core — history, search, hotkeys, secret detection, screen-share redaction, AgentAccessGuard and the switches that keep sync and agent access off — is free forever. The signed beta is rolling out now ahead of public launch; no account required.

By what you can verify: every build is Developer-ID signed and notarized by Apple; the app is local-first and usage data is opt-in, so with sync, usage data and crash reports off you can watch the network and confirm no clipboard data leaves your Mac; and the threat model and single-shot disclosure policy are published. We name what's shipped, what's in development, and what we don't claim to solve — including that there is no independent audit yet.

Never. There are no ads and no data sale, and usage data and crash reports are sent only if you turn them on. Apart from those and the sync and account features you explicitly enable, the app's outbound traffic is the signed update check against copywarden.com — watch it on the wire if you like. Paid tiers fund the work directly — the product is the business model, your clipboard isn't.

It's a launch-window offer: one payment, every current and future Pro feature for the life of the product, backed by the standard refund policy. We'd rather say plainly that it may not last than invent a countdown — if it's listed, it's available.

Sync is opt-in and end-to-end encrypted: every blob is sealed on-device with AES-256-GCM before upload — to Copywarden's servers by default, or to your private iCloud database if you pick that backend. We cannot read either: with iCloud the key never reaches our servers, and with a Copywarden Account they hold it only encrypted, under your master password or your Recovery Key. Choose Off and neither backend runs. We only advertise the sync that ships — if other backends ever ship, the changelog will say so first.

The mode stays on and keeps deleting clips on its schedule, HIPAA and Banking keep category labels off, and you can turn it off at any time. Its badge, Compliance Status, extra detection and automatic logoff pause until Pro is back, and the app tells you once when they do. While a payment is being retried, nothing pauses.
